Ponder: Soft Tops

Why would you buy a convertible/soft-top car and then not put the roof down?

The weather over the last week or so has been absolutely lovely and being the owner of a little MGF - I will put the top down at any opportunity, including in the middle of winter, if it's a sunny day.

I can't understand the people who drive around in their soft-top cars with the roof up. OK, it can get a little windy and mess up your neatly coiffed hair but if you were really that bothered - why buy one in the first place? I, for one, am making the most of it.
